What is Cannabis Hyperemesis?

You like cannabis, but what if you woke up and suddenly felt sick every time you have a joint?

There are people that are like that, where THC makes them vomit and they go through abdominal paint.

But what causes this, and how does one treat it?

What is Cannabis Hyperemesis

This is a disease where people experience nausea along with vomiting in a way that’s cyclic every few months, to the point where you might need to be hospitalized.

Ut patients can make trips out to the emergency room before they get a diagnosis, and usually they treat it as cyclic vomiting.

This is usually underreported, which causes a major issue, where it can happen due to increasing THC and the increasing vomiting.

Many who have CHS usually are surprised that cannabis makes them vomit, since normally, It’s used for nausea and vomiting treatment.

It also causes odd  behaviors in people too, where they need to spend time in hot water to help with the effects of such.

What causes This.

The cause of this varies.

It can happen because of the THC in this.

It also may be a genetic factor too, since there might be a history of this problem.

Another reason is due to the fact that since not all cannabis is regulated, contaminated flowers do play a role in this, especially if there are pesticides that are there underpinning this.

It also may be due to shifts in the endocannabinoid system. This may include the downregulation of the CB1 receptors, where it may cause issues with the neurotransmitter and its firing, and it may impact the use of THC.

It also may be due to the TRPV1 receptor, where some researchers do label this as a sort of other cannabinoid receptors. This one does play a role in gut motility, along with anxiety, pain detection, and even heat, which may contribute to the issues that are found in those patients that have this happening.

Does CBD cause this?

While THC is the main one that causes this, CBD and CBG both play a part in some cases.

That’s because in higher doses, it creates pro-emetic properties in people. However, we need more research before it can actually be figured out for sure whether or not it’s a problem.

How’s it Treated

There are several different treatment options for those who deal with this problem.

The first, is they may get topical capsaicin, which is that molecule that’s in hot peppers in order to activate the TRPV1 to stop vomiting and nausea.

They may get some antipsychotics too, in order to relieve some symptoms.

IV solutions are definitely another and is done when the person is vomiting so much that they can’t seem to keep food down, treating the conditions.

Some may get pain meds not only to take the edge off, but to reduce the abdominal pain which is experienced by many of the people who have this.

Is it permanent though? Sadly, it seems like this. Due to the ongoing research, there isn’t one specific cause, but a lot are saying genetics are a focal part of this. So while people may not experience these symptoms when they have the herb, the symptoms should fade after they fully quit period.

It’s ongoing, with a series of cyclidic actions to it, and hopefully, though quitting smoking they’ll be able to get a much better experience and be able to reduce the symptoms that can help the person feel better, and also allows for the person to offset the effects of smoking as well for them too.
